Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the media outside Parliament on the second day of the Budget Session, urging Members of Parliament to work collectively in the national interest ahead of the Union Budget presentation on February 1.
Referring to the President’s address, the Prime Minister said it has set the direction for the entire session and expressed confidence that Parliament would meet the expectations of the nation through constructive participation.
“This is the time for bold decisions. The country is moving towards solutions, and everyone must rise above party lines for the sake of the nation,” Modi stated.
Explaining the government’s approach, he highlighted the pillars of “Reform, Perform and Transform,” adding that long-term problems are now being addressed with long-term solutions focused on people-centric policies.
On economic development, Modi said the Free Trade Agreement with the European Union will boost India’s economic strength, especially benefiting manufacturing, agriculture, fisheries and entrepreneurs.
Concluding his remarks, the Prime Minister said the next 25 years will be crucial for achieving the goal of a developed India by 2047. Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman is set to present her ninth consecutive Union Budget, marking a historic milestone.
