A tragic accident occurred in Gurugram, Haryana, when a wall collapsed during construction work at a multi-storey building. At least seven workers were killed and four others were seriously injured in the incident. The mishap took place on Monday evening at a residential complex in the Sidhrawali area.

According to police sources, a wall suddenly collapsed with a loud noise while several workers were working nearby. As the wall gave way, around 12 to 15 workers were trapped under the debris. Soon after the incident, local police, administrative officials and a team from the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) rushed to the spot to begin rescue operations.

Rescue work started immediately, with heavy machinery being used to clear the rubble. After nearly an hour of continuous search and rescue efforts, the trapped workers were pulled out one by one from beneath the debris. They were rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment. However, doctors declared seven of them dead, while four others remain hospitalised with serious injuries.

A family member of one of the deceased workers alleged that the wall collapsed due to soil erosion or a possible ground collapse. The family also claimed that even after they reached the site following the accident, no official from the construction company came forward to meet them. According to them, the authorities of the construction firm are trying to evade responsibility. The families of the victims have demanded a proper investigation into the incident and accountability from the company.

Police officials said that the bodies of the deceased workers have been sent to the district government hospital for post-mortem examination. Meanwhile, an investigation has been launched to determine the exact cause of the accident. The administration stated that appropriate legal action will be taken based on the findings of the inquiry.
